Beschrijving
Mickaël Gaulhiac is a young vintner who started the Domaine with the strange name in 2017. He started his career making wine at Château Couronneau a well known Biodynamic Estate in Bordeaux. The Kallinago is different and more Burgundy in style than we find normaly in Pécharmant, which are more similar to Pomerol. (Hukulumbarros and Kallinago are the names of the sailing boats owned by the family)
Region: AOC Pécharmant, Bergerac,
Grape variety and soil: 50% Merlot, 30% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon Soil:, Argilo Calcaire with some “crasse fer” like in Pomerol, on a limestone rock base
Taste: Deep red fruits like blackcurrants, medium body in a juicy style and easy to drink, good lenght soft tannins and some minerals
Wine pairing: Serious daily red wine, to drink with friends, charcuterie and cheese platter, duckbreast and other red meats and with a nice bbq
Serving Temperature: 15-16°C, medium or big sized red wine glass type Bordeaux or Burgundy. Open in advance or decant before serving or keep until 2025
Vinification: Vinification by gravity on stainless steel, 9 months of riping on it’s fine lies. No sulfites added. Alcohol content:13% SO2 <25 mg total
